What is Geofencing and do I need it?

Geofencing utilizes GPS technology from your smart phone and when used with some of today’s newer thermostats, it can turn your heating and cooling system on and off based on the boundaries you select.

This new technology can eliminate the need to use the programmable features on your thermostat and can allow you more flexibility and freedom. The main drawback is that everyone in the home must have a smartphone device in order for their presence to be detected.
